PHILLIPS - A southeastern Wisconsin man crashed his car in the Price County woods last May.

It's what Jesse Rutherford is charged with doing after that which has him in serious trouble.

Prosecutors accuse Rutherford of pulling a gun on a church group camping in the woods nearby.

A drunk Rutherford needed car help after the crash.

Prosecutors say he stumbled upon a group of youth church campers, pulled his gun, and ordered them to their knees. He then demanded they help him with his car.

Here's how Rutherford explained to police what happened that night:

"They were doing some sort of powwow, and all I heard was 'oyoyoyoy'. I went over, and went to see what was going on, see if they could get me out of the ditch, and they came at me with the 'oyoyoyoyoy', so I pulled my gun."

Rutherford pleaded no contest to three crimes in Price County Court Monday.

He will be sentenced on October 30.

Rutherford could face a maximum prison time of more than twelve years.
