LAND O' LAKES - A local art league in Land O' Lakes will soon open their art exhibit to the public.

The Headwaters Art League will put on the exhibit at the Gateway Lodge on County Road B. A reception will be held from 4 to 6 pm on Friday. The group leaders want to use the event to promote communication between local artists.

"We hope to have a number of our artists participating in the show here," said Art League Founder Barbara Nehring. "Some to explain how they do their works and what inspires them."

The group hosts watercolor Wednesdays at the Artisans building in Land O' Lakes during the winter. The league helps promote their local artists so they can compete at art competitions across the state.

"We also sponsor the Wisconsin Regional Art Show, which is a competitive show," explains Nehring. "It allows our artists to enter a show and then win awards that might take them to a state exhibit."

The league currently has about 20 members, and they hope that they can get more artists to join them. If you would like to join the Headwaters Art League, you can contact Barbara at (715) 547-3333.
